Sundaze: sticky notes of your most important to-do’s
priorities, working backwards, greater good
“Are you taking care of yourself? I know you’ll get it done but I want to make sure this is good for you too.”
This year we take care of ourselves. Our energy is only going into things that we derive contentment from.
I am used to running my life like a business. Everything gets a slot. An hour for the gym, an hour for cooking, work, gigs, learning, spending time with people I love. Like I’m on the clock. I am reframing my mindset, prioritizing things that are investments into myself and/or the collective good. I want to live a life I’m proud of.
Here’s another time travel prompt I love:
Describe yourself at eighty. What did you do after fifty that you enjoyed? Be very specific.
Now, write a letter from you at eighty to you at your current age. What would you tell yourself? What interests would you urge yourself to pursue? What dreams would you encourage?
[Cameron, 2002]
P.S. friends who seek out experiences for you are magic, you want them around at 80
Solo date idea: Have fun, join a game night. Whether that’s tennis, archery or board games. I recently discovered an nyc mahjong community, Green Tile Social Club, that hosts game nights, tea & supper clubs. Learn more here.
Warmly,
